Love flying in Africa
Though I never had the fortune of traveling on EAA, my parents do have fond memories of traveling on EAA on the BOM-NBO-EBB sectors...
I am told their Super VC-10s were beauties...
Perhaps that's how my love for aviation grew, i.e. from my parent's stories...

I remember the old memories I used to fly with my parents usually with mum to dar and India in 1974 . The plane use to fly from Bombay to Karachi them to Nairobi . A cake was served during flight . Before the commence cotton wool was given to be plugged in the ear very noisy engine escpically the DC 9 . There were three flags and the flag displayed on the top is were the airline belonged to . Good old days
Excellent website.
I was brought up in Kenya in the 50s. As a retirement project I am researching the history of civil aviation in East Africa from 1925 - 1965. As part of that research I am building a collection of photographs of a/c that appeared on the Kenyan Colonial Register VP-K**.
I would be interested to have copies of any suitable photos. In particular I am looking for the following aircraft that served with EAAC:
VP-KCU deH 89A Rapide
VP-KDG deH 104 Dove 1
VP-KFE -KHA -KHE -KHY -KIA -KIB Lockheed Lodestar
VP-KNU VP-KTS Douglas C47.
Any help would be most welcome.
Intend to be at the reunion this year.

Hello Everyone,
My mother Mariam Fadhil worked for East African Airways until 1977. She was also one of the crew in the Addis Ababa crash of 1972.
Perhaps some of you worked with her?
She will be happy to hear about this website.
Hello and thanks for a great website reflecting EAAC.
I Wonder if it is possible to know which of the individual fleet of super VC-10s which visited Oslo and the old Fornebu airport in april 28th 1976 to carry former president of Tanzania Julius Nyerere for an official state visit?
Would be happy to know

God for old memories.

I first flew EAA (VC10) in October 1965 and frequently within EA from then till 1971 - Tanga to Zanzibar (Friendship), Nairobi to Kasese for Kilembe mines (DC3), Nairobi to London (VC10) - some others which could have been EAA I flew myself as a member of the Aero Club in Nairobi. My leather briefcase still shows an oval patch which was the EAA baggage sticker - it reminds me of great piloting and great passenger experiences, sometimes up front which was negotiable in these days! I may be able to dig up some pictures which I'll post on this site.
I was ground staff from 1958 and then aircrew from 1960.
Spent about 4 years working at this airport and working on these planes.I was member of VC10 group.I would say those were good old days.
I would love to hear from anybody who worked with me in Dar, Nairobi or may have known me in Kampala.
Bernice and I will be attending the re-union and look forward very much to getting together again with old mates.
