Bristol Britannia

The Canadairs had started to operate during 1957 but East African realised that to compete on the important route to London it needed more modern equipment. It ordered the Comet but in the meantime leased Britannias from BOAC (both 102 and the larger 312 versions) and later from BUA. Much later in 1969 a Britannia freighter was operated on EAA’s behalf by Lloyd. All the aircraft retained their British registrations.
