Enjoyed my time in EAAC in the early '60s. A bunch of us joined, known collectively and colloquially as the 'Grand Nationals' since the Company could not attract enough Licensed Engineers so advertised for Engineers qualified to Higher National Certificate standard with relevant experience in aviation to come out to Nairobi; 15 of us did. We worked mainly on the Comet aircraft but also on the Daks, Argonauts and F27 with the occasional DH 86 Rapide of SKAT thrown in!
Happy days - but hard work at times!
In the 1970s I regularly watched EAA Super VC-10s flying in and out of London's Heathrow airport: a magnificent aircraft in a very smart livery. Such a pity that it all had to come to an end.
Just found your site whilst browsing the net. Travelled to Nairobi on EAA VC10 in 1974 as a young travel agent on my first exciting famtrip. My memory's not what it used to be but I remember the group leader was Mr Johnston Okatoyu (may be spelled wrongly).
Most impressive man, great company and very kind to us young travel buffs. He may have been London based at one time. Just curious to know if he's still to the fore. Great site, brought back many memories of a trip of a lifetime. Saw a post from David Hunter ex Glasgow Sales Manager. How are you old boy?
worked for EAA up until the end Feb 1977.
VC10 training captain. The best years of my life!

My father Henry Williams worked for EAA late 50's, early 60's.
I am trying to track down Neal Todd and his wife if they are still alive. Both were very good friends of my mother Jean Williams who sadly passed away in 1999.

I grew up in Kenya as my father worked out there for a number of years and we quite often flew to UK with East African Airways at least oonce a year.
